THE INNOVATION OF THE IPHONE
On January 9, 2007, Steve Jobs released a life-changing announcement that would go on to alter the way humans live and interact with one another on a day-to-day basis. This new innovation created by Apple was called the iPhone. The iPhone released that day was a revolutionary device that consisted of multiple elements. The three main components allowed the device to act as a touchscreen iPod, a mobile phone, and an Internet communication device. Not only did this one invention enhance communication but it ultimately reinvented mobile phones entirely. Today, Apple has gone on to produce 29 different versions of the iPhone. With every new release, the iPhone
Apple’s main objective for the iPhone was to make a smart user-friendly communication tool that is easy to use for everyone. Once released to the public, the iPhone quickly became a must-have mobile device for people of all ages. However, due to the timing this product was made, many individuals from the older generations had a hard time adapting to the new and advanced technology of the iPhone. For example, my grandmother, who is 77, purchased an iPhone over 10 years ago and still has great trouble navigating her way around using the phone. I believe this is due to the fact that she was not exposed to this type of technology at a young age. Therefore, she often becomes frustrated while using her iPhone. I can see this being an issue for many individuals who were born in the same generation as my Grandma. The challenges Baby Boomers face with the iPhone is the main reason why some individuals might not be able to adapt to the technology the iPhone provides.
