THE ANTI-WAR. DO YOU EVER HEAR IT?

 

It is not common to hear politicians or public figureheads speak against war efforts, or take an anti-war stance publicly. I believe these anti-war voices are rarely heard through mainstream news sources as a way for the government to protect the many citizens who fight for our country. Anti-war in this case is the idea of being opposed to war-related topics.  Another reason I believe the government does not show anti-war voices to the public is to protect themselves. By hiding these voices and sources away from the public, the government is able to monitor and control some of the country's feelings towards its' soldiers, without any interruptions swaying support from the war efforts all across the country. As well as the massive amounts of money being poured into the military every year, more than any other country in the world spends. Allowing anti-war figureheads to speak against the military, its' members, and its' spending, the government would be exposing itself to criticism and a lot of unwanted questions from the public. Hiding anti-war voices happens all the time likely, it is the way the government tries to protect itself, and its people. 

Anti-war is something I have never been exposed to until now. After reading more about anti-war, it has come to my attention that this type of news often shows extremely graphic images of citizens who have died or been severely injured during the war. I definitely see this being an issue for not only children but also veterans. Seeing images like these can be very disturbing and also triggering to witness for all. In addition, the United States makes the most money from war than any other country. This is another large factor that may contribute to why the government fails to displace anti-war protests on the mainstream news.
